How to set up WhatsApp Business on a second number
Your customers get a business number. Your personal WhatsApp stays personal. Both can live on one phone.

WhatsApp Business is a separate free app from WhatsApp, made for businesses. It adds a business profile, opening hours, quick replies, greeting and away messages, and labels for sorting chats. Because it's a separate app, it can run on a different number from your personal WhatsApp, on the same phone.
Why use a separate number
- Your personal number stays private. Customers never see it.
- Work stays in one place. You can mute the business app after hours without missing family chats.
- The business number can be handed over. If someone else takes over customer chats, the number goes with the job, not with a person's own phone.
Setup, step by step
- 1
Get a number for the business
In Airsim, add a number and name it, for example "Sales line". It's a real US mobile number, ready in seconds.
- 2
Install WhatsApp Business
Download WhatsApp Business from the App Store or Google Play. Your personal WhatsApp stays as it is.
- 3
Register with the new number
Choose United States (+1), type the number from your dashboard, and choose to get the code by SMS.
- 4
Enter the code
It appears in your Airsim dashboard within seconds and in your email. Type it in.
- 5
Fill in your business profile
Add your business name, description, hours and website, and set a greeting message so new customers get an instant reply.
For teams and agencies
One Airsim account can hold many numbers, so a team can give each person (or each client) their own WhatsApp Business number. Each number has its own name and picture in the dashboard, and its codes can be emailed to the person who uses it. Everything is paid from one balance, so there's one bill instead of a pile of small charges.
